What is a seamless steel pipe for high-pressure boilers?

Seamless steel pipes for high-pressure boilers are special seamless steel tubes specifically used in the manufacturing of heating surfaces of high-pressure boilers (such as superheaters, reheaters, economizers) and their piping systems. They are among the critical materials in boiler fabrication that withstand the highest pressure and operate under the harshest service conditions. These pipes are mainly made of high-quality carbon steel, alloy steel or stainless steel through hot rolling or cold drawing processes. Their core feature is being seamless, enabling them to uniformly bear extremely high internal pressure and thermal stress without potential defects that may exist at welded joints. As they typically serve in high-temperature environments (up to 500℃–600℃ and above) and high-pressure conditions (usually above 9.8MPa), with long-term exposure to high-temperature steam, extremely strict quality requirements are imposed. The pipes must possess extremely high creep rupture strength, excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance, and outstanding microstructural stability to prevent creep or bursting during long-term high-temperature service. Common material grades include 20G (high-quality carbon steel), 15CrMoG (chromium-molybdenum alloy steel), etc., where the letter “G” stands for steel for boilers. Strict nondestructive testing, hydrostatic testing and heat treatment are required during production to ensure each pipe can operate safely and reliably under extreme working conditions.

What are the materials of reducers?

The material system for reducers is identical to that for tees and elbows. Selection is mainly based on the conveyed medium (corrosiveness, temperature, pressure) and service environment (industrial/civil, buried/aboveground). Materials are primarily divided into two categories: metallic and non-metallic. The detailed classification and applicable scenarios…

What are the ratings of reducers?

The “rating” of a reducer mainly refers to its pressure rating (pressure-bearing capacity) and wall thickness rating (directly related to pressure). Two major systems are widely used globally: the metric system (PN) and the American standard system (Class / Sch). For some plastic reducers, the…

What are the dimensions of the reducer?

The dimensions of a reducer mainly include four key parameters: nominal diameter (large end / small end), length, taper angle, and wall thickness, in accordance with standards such as GB/T (Chinese) and ASME (American). Clear standard dimensions are specified for different types (concentric / eccentric)…

Classification of Reducers

Reducers can be classified according to core dimensions such as structural form, manufacturing process, connection method, material, and pressure rating. Different classifications correspond to different application scenarios and technical requirements. The systematic and clear classification system is as follows: I. Classification by Structural Form (The…
